Kingston, ON: Canada’s best celebrity and Pro anglers will be in Kingston July 19th to 21st to compete for the2012 Kingston Canadian Open of Fishing title and to raise funds for local men and women of the Canadian Forces.

For three days in July on Lake Ontario, 80 Pro anglers will be paired with Amateur/Non-Boater anglers in pursuit of big bass and thousands of dollars in cash and prizes. The Pro with the highest 3-day weight of fish will take home $40,000.00 in cash. The top Amateur/Non-Boater will win a $15,000.00 prize package.

More importantly, the Canadian Open of Fishing will leave behind much-needed funds for the Kingston Military Family Resource Centre. KMFRC is a registered non-profit, charitable organization that supports and enhances the health and well-being of the military community and assists injured or ill Canadian Forces personnel.

Few Amateur sports remain open at time of this press release. Kingston and area anglers who would like to participate in the Kingston Canadian Open of Fishing in the Amateur/Non-Boater Division, should contact the Competitive Sport Fishing League at www.csfl.ca or by calling 905-640-2277.

The Kingston Canadian Open of Fishing is a live release tournament. Fish caught during the three day competition will be returned to Lake Ontario each day vis the Shimano Live Release System.
